Welcome to the DRR Club
The Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Club at DIPR is an interactive, student-led initiative implemented in pursuance of the guidelines issued by the Directorate of Technical Education, Gujarat State, NIDM, UGC, and AICTE for the Academic Year 2026-27.
Our mandate is to actively engage the campus community in building awareness, enhancing capacity, and fostering community resilience. We operate in an activity-based learning mode, encouraging student-led initiatives under expert faculty guidance.
The Comprehensive DRR Framework
Our activities are grounded in the four primary pillars of modern Disaster Risk Management:
Risk Identification & Assessment
Understanding vulnerabilities by mapping structural and environmental risks before a disaster occurs.
Prevention & Mitigation (Pre-Disaster)
Implementing proactive measures, safety protocols, and resilient infrastructure planning to minimize impacts.
The Human Element
Focusing on inclusion, community-based management, and ensuring vulnerable populations are protected.
Recovery & Finance (Post-Disaster)
Damage assessment, sustainable reconstruction, and financial strategies to bounce back stronger.
Disaster Risk Management Loop
A continuous cyclical framework connecting risk reduction, readiness, response, and resilience.
Membership: Open to all students of the institution irrespective of discipline. Join us in creating a culture of safety and preparedness on campus!
Our Objectives & Guidelines
The DRR club operates with the following core aims designed by the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM):
- To create awareness on disaster risks and promote a culture of safety and resilience within the campus.
- To provide students with hands-on training and exposure to disaster preparedness, response, and recovery practices.
- To engage students and faculty in community outreach and risk reduction initiatives.
- To integrate sustainability, climate action, and resilience-building into student activities.
Club Structure & Governance
