Internal Complaint Committee (ICC)

About the Committee

The Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) is constituted as per the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013. The ICC is responsible for preventing sexual harassment, conducting impartial inquiries into complaints, providing support to complainants, and ensuring a safe and respectful campus for all students and staff.

Objectives
  • Prevent sexual harassment at the workplace and campus as per the POSH Act, 2013.
  • Provide a confidential and safe mechanism for filing complaints.
  • Conduct a fair, impartial, and time-bound inquiry into all complaints.
  • Protect complainants from victimization or retaliation.
  • Recommend appropriate remedial and preventive measures to management.
Key Activities
  • Conducting awareness sessions on POSH Act provisions for students and staff.
  • Receiving, documenting, and processing complaints within prescribed timelines.
  • Carrying out impartial inquiry proceedings and submitting reports to management.
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality of all parties involved.
  • Recommending counselling support and interim relief to complainants as needed.

How to Submit a Complaint / Concern
  1. Submit a written complaint to the Presiding Officer of the ICC within 3 months of the incident.
  2. The complaint must describe the incident(s) in detail along with names of witnesses, if any.
  3. The ICC will acknowledge the complaint and initiate inquiry within 7 days.
  4. Inquiry will be completed within 90 days as per the POSH Act, 2013.
  5. All proceedings and identities are kept strictly confidential.
